Tottenham have stunning bid for Serie A striker rejected

Tottenham have had a stunning bid for Andrea Belotti rejected, according to Sky Italia. They report that Spurs were keen on signing the striker on loan with an option to buy next summer.

Tottenham want the Italian on loan this summer as Jose Mourinho is keen on getting a striker. The manager made it clear in his pre-match press conference that he and the club want a forward signed soon.

Sky Italia report that Tottenham wanted an option to buy for โ‚ฌ50 million next summer but Torino were not keen on that. The same report states that the Serie A side are open to selling Andrea Belotti for โ‚ฌ50 million this summer itself.

Jose Mourinho sounded confident that a striker was set to be signed by Tottenham this summer. He said:

โ€œI want a striker. But I want to make it very clear that the club – if you want to call it the club or the structure above me – knows I need a striker and they also want a striker. I believe we will get a striker, I honestly believe so.โ€

The manager had to get Troy Parrott into the squad last season when Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Lucas Moura were out.
