Everton close to signing Arsenal and Tottenham target
Everton rumours: Everton are closing in on a move for Lille centre back Gabriel Magalhaes according to the Independent.
Magalhaes, who joined Lille in 2016 for a paltry fee of £1.5m, has impressed in his three years at the French club.
He has been the subject of interest from a host of English clubs, including Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, but it appears as though Everton have stolen the march on their rivals to secure a move for the highly-talented youngster.
Magalhaes recently signed an extension which means his contract with Lille runs till 2023, but the French club are willing to listen to offers in the region of £25-30 million for the defender.
The Toffees have already held talks with the player’s representatives and a move is expected to be completed before the summer.
This bodes well for Everton, who have undergone a resurgence following the arrival of Champions League-winning manager Carlo Ancelotti in December.
