Chelsea vs Everton: Preview, Team News, Probable XI, Prediction and more

After having won only one out of their last five Premier League matches, Chelsea will look to pick three points as they prepare to host Everton at Stamford Bridge.

Match Preview

Chelsea drew against AFC Bournemouth last week but they bounced back with a brilliant victory over Liverpool in the fifth round of FA Cup. Hence, Frank Lampard will expect his team to put up a similar performance in order to secure the fourth position on the table for another week.

Even if Chelsea manage to end this match in a draw, they will still have an advantage over fifth-placed Wolves owing to the goal difference.

Everton, on the other hand, drew against Manchester United last weekend after their goal was controversially ruled out. Having won two out of their last five Premier League encounters, Carlo Ancelloti will look to guide his men to a victory tonight over his former club.

If Everton manage to bag three points tonight, they will reduce the point difference to five with Chelsea and will climb to the top half of the table.

Suspensions and injuries

Chelsea –  Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante will miss the match due to injuries. Jorghino, who was handed a two-match suspension after picking up his tenth booking of the season against Bournemouth, won’t play tonight.

Everton – Seamus Coleman will miss the match owing to his thigh injury whereas Lucas Digne’s return to the team following his muscular injury is still doubtful.

Predicted Line-up

Chelsea – Arrizabalaga; Azpilicueta, Zouma, Rudiger, Alonso; Gilmour, Barkley, Mount; James, Giroud, Pedro

Everton – Pickford; Sidibe, Mina, Holgate, Baines; Walcott, Gomes, Davies, Sigurdsson; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin

Prediction

Chelsea win: 49%
Draw: 27%
Everton win: 24%
