Chelsea hold talks for PSG striker
Chelsea rumours: Edinson Cavani has made it clear that he wants to leave PSG this month and the club are now looking to seal a deal for his exit. The striker has just 6 months left on his current deal and can negotiate a pre-contract with any club he wants.
Atletico Madrid were the only to have shown interest in him but since Leonardo, PSG Director, confirmed yesterday that the Uruguayan striker was looking to leave, Chelsea have joined the race. The Blues have opened talks with Ligue 1 but are yet to make a bid according to Goal’s Nizaar Kinsella.
This comes just hours after Telegraph’s Matt Law and Jason Burt reported Chelsea’s interest in the PSG striker. They have added that Tottenham and Manchester United are also interested but it is Chelsea who are providing strong competition to Atletico Madrid right now.
PSG are looking for more than €10M – the initial offer made by Atletico Madrid – and some reports suggest it is around €30 million. However, with the player handing in a transfer request, the fee could go down.
Atletico Madrid are still leading the race and Goal suggest that even Cavani wants to join the Spanish side.
