Zinedine Zidane has accepted an offer to return to Real Madrid according to widespread reports in the media. The Frenchman was without a club since leaving Bernabeu last summer and has now decided to return.

The 3-time Champions League winning manager shockingly decided to leave Los Blancos last summer – just days after winning the 3rd UCL title in 2.5 years at the club. Reports suggested that he had a fall out with club president, Florentino Perez over the transfer targets and plans.

COPE were the first to report that Zidane has accepted a return to Bernabeu earlier today. L’Équipe and Marca have thus followed suit and reported the same as well.

Zidane was linked with Manchester United, Chelsea and Juventus but reports suggest that the offer from Madrid was too good for him tro turn down.

Santiago Solari is now set to be sacked by Real Madrid today, just months after taking charge following the sacking of Julien Lopetegui. Reports suggest that Zidane will takeover as soon as tomorrow and his first game in-charge on return would be vs Celta Vigo on Saturday.

Rumour Ratings: 9/10

Zidane’s return has been on the cards for some time but many expected him to take the job at Juventus in the summer. Jose Mourinho was the hot favourite to take the managerial role at Bernabeu as he is Florentino Perez’s favourite manager.

But now, with several media houses reporting the same and the most of them are very reliable too.
