Cole Palmer was forced to sit out the Chelsea clash at West Ham United after the warm-up, but it did not affect Enzo Maresca’s side. The Blues ran riot after falling behind early and sealed a 5-1 win.
Lucas Paqueta scored the first goal of the game and got the home fans excited for a big Friday night. However, their lead lasted just nine minutes as Joao Pedro made it 1-1 from a corner.
Fullkrug ten had the ball in the back of the net just over a minute after the equalizer, but the goal was ruled out for an offside in the build-up. The VAR decision served as a wake-up call for the Chelsea players, who went on to dominate the game until the end.
Pedro Neto made it 2-1 in the 23rd minute, before Enzo Fernรกndez made it 3-1 in the 34th minute. The scoreline remained the same until half-time, but the West Ham fans were already on their way out.
Moises Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah scored quickly after the restart to make it 5-1 before the hour mark. Estevao had a chance to make it 6-1, but the young Brazilian took a touch too many and could not get his debut goal.
