UEFA Men’s Player of the Year winner leaked

UEFA announced the finalists of the Men’s Player of the Year award on Thursday. Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk made it as expected but the inclusion of Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo surprised a few.

The winner will be announced during the UEFA Champions League group stage draw in Monaco on Thursday, 29th August. However, a leak has ‘revealed the winner’ of the award.

According to a document obtained by @Iscoholic on Twitter, Messi is set to be named as the winner of the award. The Barcelona star got 252 points (votes) as per the document – 28 more then 2nd placed, Van Dijk.

Ronaldo has come in 3rd with 181 points. Alisson Becker finished 4th with 57 points while his teammates Sadio Mane and Mo Salah came 5th and 6th with 51 and 49 points respectively.

Real Madrid’s new signing, Eden Hazard finished 7th with 38 points while former Ajax stars, Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong finished joint 8th with 27 points.

Raheem Sterling, who won the Premier League Young player of the year award, has come 10th with a mere 12 points.
