Two Liverpool stars ruled out of Barcelona clash

Liverpool need 3 goals without reply to take the Champions League semi-finals into extra-time but things just got tougher. The Reds will be without Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino for the the 2nd leg vs Barcelona.

Jurgen Klopp was talking in his pre-match press conference when he revealed that the tow forwards will not be available. Firmino missed the 3-2 win at Newcastle United on Saturday while Salah got injured in that game.

โ€œBoth Mo and Roberto are not availableโ€ said Klopp when asked about the duo’s fitness.

Daniel Sturridge, who started the game vs Newcastle United instead of Firmino is expected to keep his place. Meanwhile, Xherdan Shaqiri is in line to make his first start in a long time.

Divock Origi, who scored the winner against Newcastle United on Saturday, is also in contention to make the starting XI but it will be either him or Sturridge.

Barcelona were also dealt with a blow over the weekend but not a significant one when compared to Liverpool. Ousmane Dembele is out of the 2nd leg after picking up an injury vs Celta Vigo.
