4-3-3 with 5 massive changes: How Real Madrid could line up next season

Zinedine Zidane is back at Real Madrid and he has a lot of changes to make. The starting XI will be the first thing he needs to sort out and for that, he needs a couple of signings.

It’s unrealistic for Los Blancos to sign 5 big players but they have enough talent in the squad to make massive changes to their starting XI by signing of a couple of upgrades.

Without further ado, here is a look at how Real Madrid could lineup next season:

Goalkeeper – Keylor Navas

The signing of Thibaut Courtois has been a headache for Madrid this season. The Belgian has not managed to handle the pressure and has conceded a lot of goals when he could have easily saved them.

Keylor Navas was always the #1 choice for Zidane and it won’t be a surprise if he opts for him once again. The Frenchman decided against the signing of David De Gea and Kepa Arrizabalaga because he trusted the Costa Rican.

Defenders – Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo

Zidane is highly like to stick with the defence that was deployed by Santiago Solari towards the end of his tenure. Marcelo was injured last season but is expected to be the #1 choice again with Ferland Mendy as his backup.

The youngster has shown that he can be their #1 choice and Zidane has to take the gamble and play him. Ramos, Varane and Carvajal have been poor this season but the Frenchman can get the best out of them once again.

Eder Militao is a very good signing but it is highly impossible for Zidane to bench Varane or Ramos.

Midfielders – Casemiro, Kroos, Eriksen

One massive signing Real Madrid are highly likely to make this summer is Christian Eriksen. The Danish star reportedly wants to leave Tottenham and with his contract expiring soon, Spurs might cash-in on him.

Los Blancos need a long-term replacement for Luka Modric and Eriksen might be the ideal one. The other option Zidane has is to take a chance with Federico Valverde, who has impressed whenever he has been given a chance.

Forwards – Mbappe, Jovic, Hazard

The big investment Madrid will be making this summer with definitely be in the forwards’ department. They have just not got the goals they need to compete for a trophy this season and Florentino Perez will break the bank to ensure Zidane gets his men.

Eden Hazard has always been a target for the Frenchman while Mbappe is any manager’s dream signing. While it would cost around £400M to get these two players, it would be a very good investment as they are exactly the type of players Madrid need right now.

As for Benzema, he is likely to keep his place in the starting XI and Zidane has always trusted him.
