PSG vs Bayern Munich was much closer than expected, but it had a dramatic finish and a half.
PSG have sealed their place in the semifinal of the FIFA Club World Cup after beating Bayern Munich 2-0 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Ligue 1 side were down to 9 men when they were up by a goal, but still managed to score again.
Jamal Musiala’s injury was the headline of the half as the German star had to be stretchered off the pitch. He was involved in a collision with Gianluigi Donnarumma, and he ended up with a broken ankle.
However, the Bundesliga champions were surprisingly not awarded a penalty.
The second half also saw both sides going end-to-end, but neither side was able to get on the scoresheet. The game looked set to go into extra time, when Desire Doue’s shot from outside the box wrong-footed Manuel Neuer, and the deadlock was broken in the 77th minute.
Willian Pacho was sent off just 4 minutes later, but Bayern Munich failed to capitalize on it. PSG were down to 9 men 2 minutes into added time, and that was not enough to help the German side get a goal.
PSG stunned everyone watching and managed to double their lead four minutes later, sealing the win. Ousmane Dembele hit the crossbar, but less than a minute later, he was presented with another chance, and he made no mistake this time.
