Neymar takes a jibe at PSG fans after Strasbourg win

PSG news: Neymar was keen on leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer and the French club’s fans are not happy with it. The Brazilian was jeered and insulted by the home fans every time he got on the ball in their match against Strasbourg.

However, it was Neymar’s stunning goal in injury time that helped the Ligue 1 champions get all three points on Saturday. The 92nd minute overheads kick goal was not celebrated by the forward despite it being one of his best in recent times.

While talking to the media after the game, Neymar said: “Now I will play each match as if I played them away from home.” The former Barcelona star was clearly not happy with the reception he got but sent a powerful messge to the fans after taking a jibe at them.

“Everyone knows it really was my wish to leave, and I wanted that. I’ve made that clear. I won’t go into details of what happened in the negotiations, people from here… even the president knows what he did, everyone else as well. So this is a thing from the past, today I’m a PSG player and I promise to give my all on the pitch, that’s my role, that’s what I’m gonna do this season.”

“I’ll be happy inside the pitch because I don’t need to have my name yelled, I don’t need the crowd to be there for me, what I want is them to be there for PSG. If they say PSG is really big and bigger than any player, then they need to forget this player and cheer for the squad the whole game. I think that’ll be much more important than booing,” he added.

PSG next face Real Madrid at home in the UEFA Champions League. Los Blancos were also one of the clubs linked with a move for Neymar but the Brazilian was reportedly set on rejoining Barcelona this summer.
