Manchester United end move for Chrisitan Eriksen

Manchester United have decided not to go ahead with their move for Christian Eriksen according to Evening Standard’s James Robson. The Red Devils were keen on signing him after failing to reach an agreement with Sporting Lisbon for Bruno Fernandes.

Reports suggest that United pulled the plug on the move after understanding the midfielder’s preference to join Real Madrid. The Danish international is keen on leaving Spurs this summer after publically accepting that he wants a ‘new challenge’.

According to various reports in the last 48 hours, United were looking to sign Eriksen for around ยฃ50 million this summer. Tottenham were reportedly open to selling him as they have a deal in place for Paulo Dybala and are in talks for Bruno Fernandes.

Reports in Standard also suggested that United had doubts over Pogba’s future at the club and were making the signing in a hurry. The transfer window closes on Thursday and United have less than 40 hours to get the deal done.

Manchester United also pulled the plug on the swap deal with Juventus involving Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku. The Red Devils were not interested in signing a player who wasn’t keen on joining them.
