Dalot has a year remaining on his contract and has not signed a new one. He has a £17.5 million release clause coming into effect on 30th June but Manchester United are not willing wait that long to sign him up.

Thus, United have paid £1.5 million over the clause to complete the deal. He is just recovering from a knee injury but that is not expected to be a stumbling block in his medical.
