Brennan Johnson opened the scoring in the first half, it needed a lengthy VAR check to rule it in their favor after the linesman had flagged for offside. The scoreline remained intact until the break.
Tottenham did not need long to double their lead after the restart. Joao Palhinha scored just 2 minutes into the second half to seal the win against Manchester City.
