Liverpool wanted to sign Bayern Munich legend this summer

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp was keen on bringing Bayern Munich legend, Frank Ribery to Anfield this summer according to L’Équipe. The winger is 36-years-old and he is currently a free agent, looking for a new club.

But ultimately he decided not to sign Ribery, as there have very limited departures from Liverpool this season. Klopp decided that his players in the attacking department were sufficient enough and there was no need for further additions.

With Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah Liverpool have one of the most feared front three in world football right now. Divock Origi also recently signed a new contract and Xherdan Shaqiri are now seen as capable backups.

Reports suggest the manager is looking to give chances to a few youngsters like Harry Wilson as well. However, the Reds were liked with Fekir and Pepe earlier this window and the manager was also keen on Ousmane Dembele.

Rumour Checker: 3/10

It is very unlikely that Liverpool showed any interest in Frank Ribery. The Frenchman is reportedly in talks with Fiorentina and Eintracht Frankfurt right now.

It looks like a made-up rumour by L’Équipe. Or fake news by Ribery’s agent to make sure the clubs are aware that the Frenchman is available for free.
