Liverpool 3-1 Newcastle United: Liverpool maintain their 100% win record in the Premier League this season with a 3-1 win over Newcastle United at Anfield on Saturday.
The early kick-off of Matchday 5 saw the hosts fall behind after a stunning strike by Jetro Willems. The left-back cut in from the left and sent a rocket past Adrian in the 7th minute of the game.
Liverpool did take time to get back in the game but once they settled in, there was no stopping them. Sadio Mane equalized for the hosts with another beautiful goal into the top corner in 28th minute.
An injury forced Divock Origi out in the 37th minute and the change made things worse for Newcastle. Roberto Firmino’s introduction saw Liverpool take the lead in the 40th minute. The Brazilian’s through-ball was fumbled by Martin Dubravka and Mane tapped it in.
Firmino’s incredible contribution continued as his backheel assist put Salah in on goal and the Egyptian made it 3-1 in the 72nd minute to seal the 3 points.
