LEON GORETZKA TO JOIN BAYERN MUNICH

Leon Goretzka has decided that he wants to join Bayern Munich, Schalke’s sporting director confirmed on Friday. The German will be leaving the club on a free transfer in the summer when his contract expires.

Speaking to the media, Christian Heidel said, “Leon Goretzka has informed has earlier in the week that he wants to leave the Club to join Bayern Munich.”

Goretzka was a target for Liverpool, Barcelona and Manchester City as well but the German has decided to remain in the Bundesliga itself. Liverpool were said to be the front-runners for him last month but Bayern ensured that they got the best talent in Germany once again.

Manuel Neuer was the last Schalke player to move to the Allianz Arena and he is still their #1 choice as a goalkeeper. The signing of Goretzka will give Chelsea a big boost as they are chasing Arturo Vidal.

The Chile midfielder is Conte’s #1 choice to partner N’Golo Kante in the heart of the midfield.
