Juventus have released a statement saying that they are evaluating several opportunities in the transfer market. They have not denied the widespread rumours of a possible deal for Cristiano Ronaldo.
The vague statement released Serie A champions released on Friday left everyone surprised.

Rumours suggesting that Juve are on the verge of signing Ronaldo saw a surge in the club’s share price. This has reached its highest point since mid-February – increasing by around 20% from the last week.
With the irregular increase in the share prices, Bianconeri were asked by the National Commission for Companies and the Stock Exchange (CONSOB) to issue a statement. Their statement read:
“After the request from CONSOB related to the news published recently on media outlets, Juventus Football Club S.p.A is keen to remind that during the transfer season the club is evaluating several opportunities and will publish adequate information as prescribed by the law,”

The statement added fuel to the fire started by Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes. By saying that Ronaldo will look for a “new stage and a new challenge”, he just hinted that a transfer is on the cards.
