Arsenal ready to let another star player leave for free next summer

Arsenal have already decided to let go of Aaron Ramsey at the end of the season and now, another player has been handed the same news. The Times report that the Gunners have informed Danny Welbeck that he can leave on a free transfer next summer.

The English striker’s contract at Emirates expires at the end of the season and is not going to be offered a new deal. Arsenal are looking to build a team for the future and Welbeck is reportedly not a part of Unai Emery’s plans.

The striker who was signed from Manchester United showed a lot of promise but injuries have kept him on the sidelines every time he is back to full fitness. The latest injury he suffered was an ankle fracture last month and that is going to keep him out for most of this season.

Arsenal have already lined up a replacement for him in the form of Wesley Moraes. The 22-year-old Club Brugge striker is a £15 million target for Emery in January.

Rumour Ratings: 10/10

Welbeck clearly isn’t a striker who would fit into Emery’s plans and given his injury record, it is difficult for any manager to get him into their plan. It will be interesting to see which club makes a move for him in the summer.

West Ham United, Fulham and Crystal Palace desperately need a striker and are the likely candidates to sign the former Manchester United striker.
