Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from Real Madrid in the summer left everyone surprised. There have been a lot of speculations as to why he had to leave Bernabeu but nothing concrete was available.

The Juventus star has finally spoken about it in his recent interview with France Football and blamed the exit on Florentino Perez. The 33-year-old has said that he did not feel wanted by the president and that was the main reason why he wanted to leave Los Blancos.

“I felt it inside the club, especially from the president, that they no longer considered me the same way that they did in the start,” he said. “In the first four or five years there, I had the feeling of being ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’. Less afterwards. The president looked at me through eyes that didn’t want to say the same thing, as if I was no longer indispensable to them, if you know what I mean. That’s what made me think about leaving.”

Juventus finally signed Ronaldo for €100 million in the summer after several rumours of him leaving Madrid. The Portuguese was linked with a move away for a long time but nothing materialised.

Ronaldo added that he did not leave Madrid for money and claimed that he earns the same as he had at Bernabeu. The 33-year-old also confirmed that he could have moved to China to earn 5 times more than he is doing right now.

Continuing to talk about his departure from Real Madrid, Ronaldo revealed that Zidane’s departure from Bernabeu did not affect his decision.
