Chelsea vs Preston North End – Player Ratings and Match Report
Chelsea have sealed their place in the FA Cup 4th Round after beating Preston North End 4-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea needed to wait until the 57th minute to get their first goal of the game but that opened the floodgates and helped Mauricio Pochettino’s side seal a place in the next round.
Armando Broja’s header helped the Blues take the lead after a frustrating first half where Preston North End had more shots at goal. Thiago Silva, who came on in the 60th minute for Alfie Gilchrist, doubled Chelsea’s lead in the 63rd minute with a header from Cole Palmer’s corner.
Raheem Sterling was having a forgettable evening but managed to score directly from a freekick to make it 3-0 in the 68th minute. Enzo Fernandez managed to cap off his brilliant display on Saturday with a tap-in to make it 4-0, after a lengthy VAR check for offside.
