Chelsea handed a triple injury boost while another star returns to first-team training

Mauricio Pochettino has been handed a triple injury boost with three Chelsea players returning to partial first-team training.

Chelsea have confirmed that Romeo Lavia, Armando Broja, and Benoit Badiashile are close to making their first appearance of the season. The trio are yet to feature this season as they were on the sidelines.

Broja suffered an ACL injury last year when the Blues faced Aston Villa in a mid-season friendly. They were gearing up for the return of club football after the FIFA World Cup break, but the young striker has been on the sidelines since.

Badiashile has been out since May after he picked up a groin injury. The Frenchman needed surgery and is now close to making his return and will be raring to fight with Levi Colwill for the LCB spot.

Chelsea signed Lavia earlier this summer after battling Liverpool for his signature. The Belgian is not yet match-fit, and Pochettino confirmed that they needed to give the teenager time to get on the same level as his teammates.

Wesley Fofana and Christopher Nkunku remain the long-term absentees for the Blues this season. Carney Chukwuemeka is also in the same stage after his injury during the West Ham United loss.

Reece James and Marcus Bettinelli are still in their rehabilitation program, while Trevoh Chalobah is also in the same phase, but his Chelsea future remains in the balance.

Mykhailo Mudryk, who missed the last two matches due to an injury, is back in training and should be available in the Premier League matchday squad to face Nottingham Forest.
