Chelsea transfer news: It has been a busy week at Chelsea and the club have started the transfer window way better than they usually do. The Blues made a list of players way before the ban was reduced and a few were added very recently.
The following is directly from a source at the club and it is up to you if you want to believe it or not.
Nathan Ake to Chelsea?
Chelsea have made it clear to Bournemouth that they are interested in re-signing Nathan Ake. The intimation was sent in December itself but the defender got injured and there has been a slight delay.
Sources have told Nitwik Football that it is very likely for Chelsea to wait for him to get fit before a medical is done. If he is not fit before the window closes, Chelsea will activate the clause, conduct a medical test and then take a call.
Frank Lampard has made it clear that he wants a centre-back signed soon. Ake is the #1 choice right now.
Moussa Dembele to Chelsea?
An inquiry was made for Dembele late last month for signing the striker. Lyon said they were not interested one bit and that got Chelsea to launch a bid for him to test waters.
Lyon’s statement was right after the bid was rejected but Chelsea are not giving up. They are determined to sign a striker and Dembele and Werner are the top choices.
Timo Werner to Chelsea?
Chelsea have got to know about the release clause and informed RB Leipzig that they are willing to activate it. That is reportedly when the other part of the clause came up. Goal’s Nizaar Kinsella reported that the clause is cheaper in the summer (not sure about that but he’s very reliable).
Moreover, the information from Werner’s representatives was that the striker wants to stay at the Bundesliga club for the rest of the season. Chelsea were open to loaning him back but it looks like the release clause reducing in the summer might have played a factor.
We will post an update on this once we have full information. But as of now, the puzzle seems to fit and Nizaar’s report of clause reducing in the summer could be the focal point of the talks.
Gabigol to Chelsea?

Olivier Giroud set to leave
Giroud has a few offers of leaving. Chelsea are looking to sell him and not loan him out as his contract expires at the end of the season. We have been informed that as of now, there is no talk of handing him a new deal just to sell (like Zappacosta) him in the summer.
Rangers were linked but that has been rebuffed. Inter Milan are interested but we were told that 3 Ligue 1 clubs – AS Monaco, Montpellier and Nice – were the ones in touch with Chelsea from November. Bordeaux have also joined the race while Crystal Palace and Aston Villa are also reportedly interested.
Pedro to leave
One departure all but certain is Pedro. Inter Miami are the ones leading the race right now and have been given permission to talk to the Spaniard.
His agent was looking to secure a move back to Barcelona and Chelsea were open to letting him leave for cheap but the Catalan club pulled the plug after initial discussion with him. As of now, MLS is the very likely destination.
Other rumours
No talks or inquiry any other player from what we know. No other player likely to leave and contract talks with Willian are still not done. Jadon Sancho is a player Chelsea are very keen on signing but are yet to make a bid.
