Chelsea have sacked Antonio Conte – 2 years after appointing him as the head coach. The Blues parted ways with the Italian manager after he fell out with the top players at the club.

Conte fell out with the Chelsea board and was in a constant battle with them throughout the 2017/18 season. The manager wanted big players signed last summer but the club could not get him the players he wanted.

Moreover, they had sold and loaned out a chunk of youngsters at the club and the manager was unhappy with that as well.

The manager won the Premier League in his very first season and followed it up with an FA Cup victory in his second season. However, they finished 5th in the league and thus will not be in the Champions League this season.

The lack of Champions League football meant that Chelsea would have found it difficult to attract players. But, the imminent arrival of Maurizio Sarri is set to solve that.

The former Napoli manager is reportedly on his way to London to sign a deal with Chelsea. Sarri’s arrival will also see the Blues signing Jorginho from the Serie A side.
