Sources: Callum Hudson-Odoi to return after international break
Chelsea rumours: Callum Hudson-Odoi’s has recovered well from his injury and is in line to return after the International break according to our sources at the club. The teenager ruptured his Achilles’ tendon back in April and was expected to be out for a long time.
However, further tests on the winger suggested that the injury was not as bad as first reported and that he would be back soon. Our source has also made it clear that he has not signed a new deal yet but everything has been agreed.
Hudson-Odoi will be putting pen to the new contract just before he makes his return to the team as per the same source. To make this even better for Chelsea fans, Callum won’t be the only one making his return to training towards the end of the International break.
Reece James has started light training and is expected to be making his way to the first-team training in the second week of September – around a month from now. He had damaged ligaments in his ankle during the Toulon Tournament.
Davide Zappacosta is currently the backup to Cesar Azpilicueta but it’s very likely that the Italian will be sold this summer. AS Roma and Inter Milan are keen on signing him and Chelsea will be loaning or sell him this summer.
