Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich ‘out of danger after suspected poisoning’ during peace talks

Roman Abramovich is out of danger after suspected poisoning at Ukraine peace talks earlier this month. Along with two Ukrainian officials, the Chelsea owner developed symptoms but is recovering now. 

According to a report in Wall Street Journal, Roman was involved in peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. He developed symptoms including red eyes, constant and painful tearing, and peeling skin on his face and hands after a meeting earlier in March. 

The Russian also suffered a loss of vision for several hours as per the report. He was treated in Turkey and is now recovering after the suspected attack.

The Chelsea owner was sanctioned by UK Government but is still the owner of Chelsea. The Russian was disqualified by the Premier League as well, and the sale process of the club is underway.

Raine Group, a global merchant bank based in the United States, are handling the sale of Chelsea. The group invited bids for the club and received over 200 inquiries. 

While the number of bidders were far less, the group had to make a shortlist for the Chelsea board members to select. They have brought down the numbers to 4, and they have been asked to submit their final bid by April 11th. 

The Ricketts family are surprisingly still in the race to get the keys for the Premier League club despite protests by the Chelsea fans on social media.
