Frank Lampard provides update on Tammy Abraham’s injury

Chelsea news: Frank Lampard has confirmed that Tammy Abraham will not be involved in Chelsea’s match against West Ham United. The Blues manager also revealed that the striker will undergo further tests this weekend.

Abraham got injured midweek during the 2-2 draw against Valencia. He had jumped for the ball but landed hard on his opponents’ legs and injured his ribs.

When asked if Tammy will be involved, Lampard said: “No, we will know by the end of the weekend. There’s lots of pain. We will see by Monday.

Lampard added he is confident that Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud will step up in the striker’s absence.

Chelsea host West Ham United on Saturday at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League. The Blues are 4th in the table with 26 points while the Hammers are 4th from the bottom – 17th with 13 points.

West Ham boss is under pressure to deliver as they have not picked a single win in the last 8 games in all competitions. Reports suggest Hammers are looking for a replacement and will make a decision soon.
