Arsene Wenger claims he wanted Borussia Dortmund star at Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has revealed that he wanted to sign Jadon Sancho at Arsenal. The former Gunners manager claims that he tried to lure him while the forward was at Manchester City.

While talking to beIN Sports, Wenger recollected that Sancho was looking for game time at Etihad and believed he could take advantage of it and sign him. The former manager also praised Sancho and said he’s one of the best players of this generation.

“I wanted to take him from Man City when he didn’t get the games. I tried to lure him because he is from London. I tried to get him to Arsenal. He is one of the best players of his generation. He can dribble, he has the arrogance!” said Wenger.

This is not the first time the former Arsenal manager has said he failed to sign players. He has claimed that he tried to sign a lot of top players but did not manage to lure them.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Eden Hazard, Zlatan Ibrahimovic etc are a few examples. [hide] Check out BVB news, Arsenal news and Man City news for more. [/hide]
