Erling Haaland creates Champions League history on Borussia Dortmund debut

BVB News: Erling Haaland continued his sensational form with a stunning brace in Borussia Dortmund’s 2-1 victory over Paris-Saint Germain in the first leg of their Champions League R16 tie.

The 19-year-old struck twice in the second half in what was a record-breaking performance, as he became the fastest player to the 10-goal mark in Champions League history, needing just seven games to achieve the feat, as per OptaJoe.

He also became the second-youngest player in the competition’s history to score 10 goals, behind only PSG’s Kylian Mbappe.

Haaland’s goals propelled Dortmund to a hard-fought 2-1 victory at the Westfalenstadion and they hold the upper hand heading into the second leg in Paris.

The 19-year-old, who was making his Champions League bow for Dortmund, also became the first player in the club’s history to find the back of the net on his Bundesliga, UCL and DFB-Pokal debut.

His brace also took his tally to 11 goals from just seven games for Dortmund in all competitions, another Bundesliga club record.
