Bayern Munich vs Auckland City – Player Ratings and Match report

Bayern Munich vs Auckland City kicked things off in Group B of the FIFA Club World Cup. The Bundesliga side was no match for the side from New Zealand and eased to a 10-0 win.

Kingsley Coman was denied with a superb save, but the New Zealanders did not have enough time to celebrate as he scored from the resulting corner. The Frenchman turned provider with Sacha Boey scoring in the 18th minute and opening the floodgates.

Michael Olise got into the act to make it 3-0, just two minutes later, with a tap-in at the far post after a fumble by Harry Kane. Coman got himself another just a minute later to make it 4-0 in the 21st minute of the match.

Bayern Munich eased a little after the 4th goal as they were confident that the game was well and truly over. Thomas Muller and Olise added two quick goals just before the half-time whistle to make it 6-0.

Bayern Munich struggled to get into the rhythm in the second half and needed to wait until the 67th minute to get a goal. Jamal Musiala found the back of the net with a superb effort before getting his second just 6 minutes later from the spot. He completed his hat-trick thanks to some help from the Auckland City goalkeeper to make it 9-0.

Muller completed his hat-trick in his final tournament for Bayern Munich with just a minute left on the clock to seal a stunning 10-0 win. Not the best advertisement for the FIFA Club World Cup, but the Auckland City players will not be complaining, although some have come to the tournament after taking leave from their regular jobs.
