Barcelona winger’s future in the limbo

Ousmane Dembรฉlรฉ’s Barcelona career is in grave danger as the Catalan giants have lost patience with him. The former Dortmund winger has been sidelined for the rest of the season and this is his tenth injury since signing for Barcelona.

Spanish outlet Marca is reporting that the Dembรฉlรฉ has run out of credit at Camp Nou. He signed for Barca in 2017 and since then he has spent 344 days injured. Also, the earliest he is expected to return is August which would mean that he would be injured for a whole year.

The Frenchman was signed to replace PSG star Neymar and Barca paid 105 million euros plus a further 40 in add-ons. Even when he was fit, he never really looked comfortable with Barca’s style and failed to nail down a place in the starting eleven.

Barca’s hierarchy told him that this season would be his last chance. He was told to improve his fitness and performance levels. While he was also told to take care of his off-field issues as well.

It seems like nothing has worked on Dembele as his injury crisis have worsened and neither his performances improved.

Though at the same time Barca don’t want to lose credibility as a club and they could possibly loan out Dembรฉlรฉ like they have loaned out Phillipe Coutinho. But for now, Dembรฉlรฉ’s Barcelona career is very uncertain and it would be interesting to see what the Catalan giants decide to do with him.
