Lionel Messi talks about his return date

Barcelona News: Lionel Messi has confirmed that he won’t be back for this weekend’s game against Valencia but could return against Borussia Dortmund or Grana next week. The Argentine has been out with an injury and is yet to play a game this season.

The forward picked up a calf injury right before Blaugrana’s pre-season in the United States. He was expected to be back for the Real Betis game but has taken more time to recover.

“No, I am still training on my own and I do not have a fixed date for my return. I will do tests and when we see that I am 100% fit, I’ll be ready. I won’t play against Valencia and we’ll see if I’ll be fit in time for Dortmund or Granada. But as I said, I don’t have a fixed date to return,” Messi told SPORT in an exclusive interview.

Continuing to talk about his injury, he revealed that he is feeling better and the injury was worse than what was first thought. Messi also made it clear that he will only return when he is fully recovered. he said:

“I feel better. It was really bad because it happened on my first day back and it originally looked to be something minor but, in reality, I have been out of action for the past 15 days. Now, I know what it is and I feel more at ease. I will return when I feel I have fully recovered.”
