Arsenal have thrashed Leeds United in their first home match in the Premier League this season. The Gunners won 5-0, with Viktor Gyokeres and Jurrien Timber getting braces and Bukayo Saka getting the other.
Timber stunned the home fans by scoring the first goal of the season at the Emirates just after the half-hour mark. He scored from a corner before setting up Saka for his goal just before the half-time whistle.
Gyokeres got his first goal in the Premier League quickly after the restart, and Timber completed a surprise brace in the 56th minute. The game looked set for a 4-0 end, but a late penalty after a foul on teenager Max Dowman saw Gyokeres step up and complete his brace.
All was not good for Arsenal despite the big win over Leeds United, as Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka went off injured.
