Arsenal bid for defender rejected by RB Leipzig
Arsenal rumours: RB Leipzig have rejected a €55 million bid from Arsenal for Dayot Upamecano. The Bundesliga side reportedly wants Arsenal to include Emile Smith Rowe in the deal as well.
Leipzig want Smith Rowe a 20-year-old midfielder as the part of the deal either on loan or permanently.
The transfer window closes tomorrow and the Gunners are hopeful of getting the deal done before the window closes. Arsenal value Smith Rowe for €25 million, who is a highly rated youngster as negotiations continue between the clubs.
William Saliba has already arrived at the club from Saint Etienne for €27 million but he has been loaned back to the Ligue 1 side. The North London side are having cash crunch especially since the arrival of Nicolas Pepe
Arsenal and Leipzig enjoy good relations, as Smith Rowe was sent on loan to the German side. But before his departure to the Bundesliga, he was regularly used by Unai Emery in Europa League games.
