Arsenal ready to battle Chelsea for two midfielders – Reports

Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Moises Caicedo and Declan Rice and will battle Chelsea for both midfielders.

As per Sam Dean of Telegraph, Mikel Arteta is keen on adding Caicedo before the transfer window shuts this month. The Brighton & Hove Albion star has expressed his desire to leave the Seagulls and issued a public transfer request on his social media accounts.

Chelsea are also interested in the Ecuadorian star and have had a bid rejected for him. The Blues went in with a £55 million bid for the midfielder last week, while the Gunners had a £60 million offer rebuffed earlier this week.

The two London rivals are also set to battle for West Ham United‘s Declan Rice this summer. Both sides are looking to bolster their midfield and see the Englishman as the ideal fit.

The Hammers reportedly want at least £80 million for their prized asset, about £10 million less than Brighton & Hove Albion are demanding for Caicedo. However, the price tag has not scared Arsenal and Chelsea away, as both sides are still interested in the two midfielders.

The two sides battled for Mykhailo Mudryk earlier this month and Chelsea won the race.
