Former Chelsea goalkeeper to join AC Milan

AC Milan news: Asmir Begovic is set to join AC Milan according to Di Marzio. The Sky Italia journalist reports that the former Chelsea goalkeeper will be joining the San Siro side from AFC Bournemouth.

Begovic was on loan at Qarabag but is back at the Premier League side after the deal expires in December. He joined Bournemouth from Chelsea back in 2017 but lost his place to Aaron Ramsdale.

Eddie Howe confirmed in the press conference that Begovic could be on the move. He said: โ€œOn Asmir, I donโ€™t know. I think thatโ€™s a situation where things may change but, at the moment, he is part of our group and heโ€™s training very well.โ€

The Bosnian will replace Pepe Reina, who is on his way to join Aston Villa. Both keeps are moving on loan but the Premier League side have an obligating to buy the Spaniard in the summer.

Reina has Premier League experience from his time at Liverpool. He did not win the league but was one of their best keepers of recent times.
