Chelsea have no plans to sell Enzo Fernandez despite Real Madrid interest – Sources

Real Madrid are pushing for Enzo Fernandez, but Chelsea have no plans to sell, sources have told The Sportzine. The Argentine midfielder has no plans to leave and has not held talks with the Spanish side.

Chelsea are aware of Real Madrid’s interest in Enzo Fernandez. The Blues have no interest in selling their vice-captain and have shown interest in extending his contract.

Xabi Alonso has asked Real Madrid to sign a midfielder this summer and the club are looking to get in a long-term replacement for Luka Modric. They have set their sights on Enzo, and reports in Argentina suggest the midfielder has agreed personal terms.

However, sources have told The Sportzine that the rumors of talks and house hunting in Spain are not true. The former Benfica star has not shown any sign that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge.

Fernandez was signed by Chelsea from Benfica after a month-long negotiation that saw the deal pushed over the line with minutes left on Deadline Day. They paid £121 million to get the Argentine star and was named as the vice-captain last summer when Enzo Maresca took over.

Chelsea saw their deal for Dean Huijsen hijacked by Real Madrid earlier this month. The Blues were in talks to lure the AFC Bournemouth star and were close to getting his signature, but Alonso made the call directly to get the Spaniard to join him at Santiago Bernabeu.
